Memories of lovely Jane

Created by Tony one year ago

I have so many wonderful memories of Jane, who was my ex work colleague and, more importantly a lovely friend. Jane was kind, thoughtful and caring, Jane had a heart of gold and I will never forget her. We often spent time working away from our respective homes and partners, and Jane had to put up with me on our long drives north and my choice of music/radio stations. We laughed often, enjoyed many G&T's together, and lots of nice meals together, Jane was a massive foodie and even tried to convert me on a couple of occasions to becoming a vegetarian. We once visited a restaurant where Jane noticed on the menu they had a set vegetarian tasting menu, only one issue, the meal was for a minimum of 2 people and I had already decided I wanted a juicy medium rare steak!! Guess what, Jane convinced me to swap my steak for the vegetarian tasting menu and it was one of the tastiest meals I had ever experienced.

Jane was a special person who loved life, she often shared stories of her many happy holidays she had with Leon and was always talking about future travel plans. Jane loved nature and would often share her gardening triumphs with her colleagues, my wife and I had the pleasure of being invited to Jane and Leon's home to have a wonderfully home cooked vegetarian meal, the food was beautiful with ingredients directly from their garden, not to mention the homemade cheesecake.

During Covid we would often meet on zoom for a G&T to catch up and stay connected even though we no longer worked together. Like others, I am really sad Jane has left us so suddenly and I am just sorry i didnt get to see or speak with Jane much recently, we had loads to catch up on and talk about.

Thank you Jane for being a lovely friend and work colleague, I am so lucky to have known you and you will always be fondly remembered.

I have uploaded some photos from Jane's time with me and other colleagues at Yorkshire Building Society, where she was much loved by her colleagues.

With love from Tony, Susan and the Burns family.
